COPYRIGHT AGREEMENT
Some people mistakenly think that it's fine to copy a print once they have paid for it, or that copying is permissible if they don't plan to sell the image. Both are false.

Copying images without the artist’s permission is illegal and punishable by up to a $150,000 fine. Scanning, emailing or making copies at a copy center or at home are all illegal. Professional portraits are not required to have a stamp or copyright notation to indicate copyright, although this is indicated on the back of many prints.

It is understandable that you love your images and want to share them. That means the photographer did her job well and should be fairly compensated for her hard work. Stacy has gone to great lengths and expense to use only the best equipment and professional photo finishing services to create a top-quality product. Scans create embarrassingly low-quality images that can unfairly harm the photographer's reputation.

Stacy reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who copies her work without permission. Copyright violations will be prosecuted.

I, __________________________, do hereby give SLN STUDIOS (Stacy Nieuwenhuis) his or her assigns, licenses, successors in interest. legal representatives, and heirs the irrevocable right to use my family and/or child(s) photographs in reproductions.

I understand that SLN STUDIOS (Stacy Nieuwenhuis) owns the copyright in all images created and shall have the exclusive right to make reproductions. including but not limited to, promotional media, studio samples, studio blog, self-promotions, entry in photographic contests or art exhibitions, editorial use, or for display within or on the outside of the studio. As the original creator, SLN STUDIOS (Stacy Nieuwenhuis) retains all copyrights to the images. Reproduction of any kind is illegal and violators will be held punishable to the full extent of the law. I have read, and fully understand, the above agreement. I give consent for SLN STUDIOS (Stacy Nieuwenhuis) to use photos of myself, my family and or my child(ren) for the above mentioned purposes. I am the individual/ representative or parent or guardian of the minor/party named above and have the authority to execute the above release.

PORTRAIT AGREEMENT
The retainer fee is due at the time of booking as a retainer to secure your appointment. The retainer is non-refundable, but you may reschedule within 30 days. Please give at least a 24-hour notice to reschedule. No-shows forfeit the retainer. Photographs and other keepsakes are purchased separately. In the event of poor weather, outdoor sessions may reschedule or switch to an indoor location.

Retainer Fees:
Studio Session $100.00
Newborn Session $150.00
Location Session add $25.00 (sessions more than 20 miles from Studio will incur an additional travel fee)

Once your session is completed, please allow approx. 2 weeks to complete the editing of your file. Once your files are edited, you will be notified to schedule a ordering session and images will be posted in a private, password protected gallery 3 days prior to your ordering session. If you are unable to make your ordering session your gallery will expire until you reschedule your ordering session. Galleries are hosted for 5 days only. Additional time is available for $25/per 5 days.

All payments are due in full before your order is placed, unless you have previously worked out a payment arrangement with our business office. Please allow 10 business days for your order to be completed, inspected and packaged for pickup or shipment. Please allow 4-6 weeks for allows/jewelry and purses.

Minimum purchase requirement of $250.

All purchased images are kept on file for one year from the date of your session.

Non purchased images are discarded 60 days after your session.

All prints are finished with a high-quality texture which will extend the life and beauty of your prints.

All prints are subtly signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner of the print. Non-signed prints are available for a special fee.

All prices which in effect on the date of your session shall be honored for 30 days after your session date. Any orders placed after 30 days shall be priced according to the most current fee schedule. Prices are subject to change without notice.

If for some reason you are unhappy with your session images, please notify the studio in writing within 24 hours of viewing. One reshoot will be provided at no cost, or your entire Session Retainer refunded. If you are unhappy with your reshoot images, your Session Retainer will be refunded and the images discarded, with no obligation on your part. If you choose to do a reshoot, all images from the original session will be discarded and will be unavailable for purchase.

In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your printed images, please notify the studio in writing within 24 hours of receiving your prints. There are NO returns on “extras” (books, albums, jewelry, bags: please be sure you know what you are purchasing!!).

Returned checks are subject to a $35 returned check charge and must be then replaced with cash/certified funds or credit card.

All collages and custom Art Books include two client-requested changes at no cost. After two client-requested changes, each additional change is $50, payable in advance of the changes being made.

NEWBORN SESSION INFORMATION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Congratulations and thank you for choosing SLN Studios to photograph the most fleeting stage of your child's life ......... the first few weeks. I have enclosed below information pertaining to a newborn session at our studio & in-home. It is my hope that you will find this information helpful as you prepare for our session together. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
STUDIO SESSIONS

Please feed your baby before you arrive so that he or she has a full tummy. Also, if you'd like shots of your baby undressed, please undress him/her and loosen diaper, then wrap your baby in a blanket, and feed him/her. Weather permitting, of course. Otherwise, your baby may get upset at being undressed when they were so cozy. I do like to photograph a newborn mostly in little to no clothes, but feel free to bring an outfit, bloomers or a beanie hat that you may want him or her in. Please note that many clothing changes may make your little one upset, so it is best to do birthday suit shots and possibly one outfit.

I generally like to photograph newborns within the first 4-10 days of life. Older newborns tend to sleep less and do not curl up as easily, therefore allowing for a much smoother session for baby and parent. If your child is older than 2 weeks, please bring your baby’s best soothing device. White noise machine, pacifier and bouncy chair are all good choices.

I often use the parents as backdrops for baby, so please wear a black LONG SLEEVED top and black pants (if possible). Also, an extra set of clothes for the parents is a good idea, just in case. Mom and dad are welcome to join for pictures with baby at no extra charge. Also, feel bring to bring an outfit that you would like to be photographed in. Anything that suits your personality that doesn’t have too loud of a print that might override the photograph.

Please know that there is no rush with a newborn session. I like to give special attention to each client, especially newborn sessions. Please know that I do not mind waiting for you to nurse or change baby, or taking a break to soothe your baby.

When doing the poses where the baby is undressed, it is normal (and okay!) for him or her to "relieve" him or herself on my backdrop ... or anywhere else. I can assure you this happens all the time and I am not upset or offended. Please bring with you baby wipes, extra diapers and a towel. After each newborn session I am sure to launder all of my backdrops and other items the baby comes in contact with. This is included in the session fee for a newborn session.

Please only bring those who are to be photographed to the studio. Also, cameras and other recording devices are not permitted.

Please bring something for the older children to do while they are not being photographed. Crayons, mini board games, and books are good choices.

Lastly, please bring a list of “must haves” images (close-ups with feet and hands, with someone, etc.)

IN-HOME SESSIONS

Much of the same applies as above, so about 30 minutes before I arrive please feed your baby and undress him/her and loosen diaper. Have in mind a few ideas a few furniture/blankets/props you would like me to photograph with the baby. If the baby and time will allow, you have no more than 2-3 different locations around your house to work with. I look for natural light so rearranging the furniture might take place to get that perfect shot.

The parents clothing is a little different than from what I do in studio. Anything you want to wear is what goes! I like to see parents in their every day attire. Think outside the box! Maybe Mommy and Daddy want to be in cute PJ’s together instead of something formal.

Please know that there is no rush with a newborn session. I like to give special attention to each client, especially newborn sessions. Please know that I do not mind waiting for you to nurse or change baby, or taking a break to soothe your baby.
